Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps Performance in Middle East Q1 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 Maps and Navigation apps in the Middle East demonstrated varied performance trends across downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at how each app fared.

Careem – rides, food & more maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, starting from around 49K in early January and slightly dropping to approximately 34K by the end of March. Active users showed a mixed trend, beginning at 387K and peaking at around 477K in early March before settling at nearly 390K by the end of the quarter. Notably, the app did not generate any revenue during this period.

Phone Tracker and GPS Location experienced a decline in downloads, starting from about 34K in early January and falling to around 9K by late March. Active users, however, saw an increase from 175K at the beginning of the quarter, peaking at 228K in mid-March, and ending at roughly 188K.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic showed a consistent download pattern, starting at 41K in early January, peaking at 52K in the second week, and concluding the quarter at approximately 34K. The app's active users remained robust, starting at 2.3M and ending at about 2.4M, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride had a relatively stable download rate, beginning at around 53K in early January and ending at about 43K by the end of March. Active users hovered around the 1.6M mark for most of the quarter, peaking at 1.7M in early March before slightly dropping back to 1.6M by the end of the period.

Yango Maps saw a varied download trend, starting at 35K in early January, dipping to around 22K by late March. Active users showed a positive trend, beginning at 34K and steadily increasing to around 41K by the end of the quarter.
